🎵 Music Box – Frequently Asked Lesson Questions (FAQ)
Q: What instruments do you teach? Music Box offers instruction on instruments and subjects that go into a contemporary Band: Piano (Keys), Drums (drum set), Vocals, Guitar, Ukulele, Electric Bass. We also offer a Contemporary Band Lesson Program (ask for a syllabus), and several state-recognized Music Production Lesson Programs (for kids and adults).
Our youngest students (4-8) have an opportunity to explore and discover various instruments through a Rising Artist Lesson Program (8 short modules on Voice, Piano, Ukulele, and Percussion), and our Artists on Special Learning Journeys get an opportunity to study with a Board Certified Music Therapist, in Adaptive Music Lesson Track.
At Music Box it is easy to switch instruments, schedules, add on instruments and learning programs to your learning experience, and switch in and out of 1:1 and group instruction.
Q: What is taught in Music Production Courses?
Students can enroll into a 3-week introductory course and learn about 3 major Music Production key areas: Music-making, DJing, Podcasting (subjects rotate weekly), before they dive deeper into each of these topics in a more-in-depth, longer course. We also offer lessons on Recording, Live Sound and Songwriting. In each course, students learn about software, hardware, online security and responsibility, music theory, music styles, sounds, orchestration, pre, production and post-production processes, concepts and applications.
Q: Do I need to pay for a trial lesson?
We charge $40 for trial lessons, to secure appointment attendance. Once a student is enrolled, we can manually credit the $40 to your first invoice, or issue a credit on your Music Box account, so you can apply it to an upcoming invoice of your choice.
Q: Do I need to bring an instrument for a trial class?
If you’d like, but not required, - we have instruments at the school for you (your child) to take a trial class with. We can also help with the instrument purchases.
ADMISSION & ONBOARDING
Q: Is there an enrollment fee?
Yes. There’s a one-time, non-refundable $40 (effective Jan 2026) enrollment fee added to your first invoice, as we have to cover systems and curriculums setup and onboarding.
Q: What happens after I enroll?

Each student’s journey looks different. Everyone learns and levels up at their own pace.
