Music Box Inc. Receives DSEW Grant from the State of Tennessee to Offer Affordable Music Production Courses in Collierville, Germantown, and Memphis

At less than $10 an hour, your child can enjoy hands-on, interactive learning in a creative and structured setting. While they explore music production, you can run errands, enjoy dinner, or take a break—knowing your child is in a safe and enriching environment.

Short-Term Commitment

No lengthy contracts—just a flexible, easy-to-enroll program that fits your busy schedule. Classes run twice a week for one hour, offering structured learning and fun.

  • Level 1: Introductory course for ages 7–18, covering music production basics.

  • Level 2: Advanced courses (Recording, Digital Composition, DJing, Live Sound, Podcasting) after completing Level 1. Enrollment through Music Box admin only.

Separate programs for ages 7-10, 11-13, and 14-18. Sessions will be limited to 8-16 students per class

Bonus: Middle and high school students (11–18) receive a $200 music-compatible hard drive after completing two courses.

Music Box Inc., a leader in music education and production, is proud to announce its receipt of the Digital Skills Education Workforce (DSEW) Grant from the State of Tennessee. This prestigious grant will enable Music Box Inc. to provide cutting-edge music production courses to Tennessee youth at a significant discount, enhancing their technology skills and preparing them for careers in the music and tech industries. Starting in January 2025, Music Box Inc. will offer both foundational and advanced music production courses at 80% off regular tuition, thanks to the support of the DSEW grant. These courses will be available to children ages 7-18 at Music Box in Germantown, TN and Collierville, TN.

Students will have access to state-of-the-art technology labs equipped with individual music production stations, where they will learn a variety of skills, including music production basics, recording, digital composition, DJing, live sound management, and podcasting.

“Music production is one of the fastest-growing career fields in today’s digital world,” says Yelena Ovando, Founder and CEO of Music Box Inc. “With this grant, we are able to offer students a unique opportunity to learn from experienced, degreed educators in a fully resourced, professional environment. Our goal is to equip Tennessee’s youth with the skills they need to succeed in the music and tech industries, all while having fun and being creative.”Each course spans 2.5 months and includes 20 hours of instruction (two 50-minute lessons per week). The affordable tuition of $194 per course makes it easier for families to participate, saving $668 per student. As a special incentive, students who complete two or more courses will receive a free hard drive to store their work.
