Music Box, a music school in Germantown TN, is looking for a part time educator (up to 30 hours per week), to teach piano/keys, drums, guitar, electric bass, ukulele, music production and/or voice.

Educator Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Teach individual lessons and group programs

  • Take attendance and assign homework

  • Learn and follow the school policies, code of conduct, and teaching method

  • Be available and report to work within a designated schedule and on-time

  • Prepare for and follow up on lessons, as required

  • Keep open, timely and effective lines of communication

  • Learn to use the visual/audio technology to facilitate learning

  • Assess and record students’ progress and provide coaching feedback

  • Collaborate with other school educators and staff

  • Participate in scheduled staff meetings, training, monthly performance workshops and other occasional group events

  • Keep their spaces clean and free of clutter

Minimum qualifications:

  • Official Music Training in Music, Music Education, or any other related discipline

  • Some experience providing music instruction to children and adult students

  • Ability to play the instrument that you are applying to teach

  • Ability to teach music theory, improvisation, and composition

  • Passion and appreciation for a variety of contemporary music styles

  • Self-starter with ability to work in teams and creative environments

  • Positive can-do attitude and flexibility

  • Aptitude for learning new teaching methods

The following qualifications are a plus:

  • Ability to teach multiple instruments

  • Performance experience

  • Ability to teach in languages, other than English
